A Cake smash session is a joyful, fun way to mark the milestone of your baby’s first birthday. Capture their surprise, curiosity & delight (or maybe not delight) as they experience their first taste of sugar.
Where did the time go? Your little baby is already ONE! A transition from baby to toddler is a special time. What better way to celebrate than with some cake~
I photograph your baby in an outfit of your choice capturing their one-year-old personality & then the fun begins as they explore the texture, taste & excitement of digging into their cake.
Sessions take place at my studio or an outdoor location (weather permitting)
A pre-session consult phone call to help prepare for the shoot including help with outfit choices (you will have access to the children’s clothing & props I have in my collection).
What to wear?
- white onesies & tutus always photograph well. I recommend simple with lots of skin showing.
You may want to bring your child’s favorite ‘lovie’ or toy to include as part of their photo session or plan a theme around it. A pearl necklace for girls ~ cute tie for boys.
You provide the cake…I’ll provide the cake stand. Pastels look great on camera. Sprinkles, decorations & #1 candles always look great. Avoid chocolate, red & blue – the first two don’t look good when wet & the last is tough to clean up afterward. I have different sizes, colors & shapes of cake stand depending on the look you are going for.
Remember to bring extra clothing for the baby & might even want to throw something in there for you too. Cake smashing is fun…but it is messy.
A tubby session is available to capture some fun bubble shots & get baby scrubby dub clean. (Ask for details if you would like this option)
The session is for portraits of the baby only and does not include siblings or parents.
